The Msceit

Emotional brain can be asses straight through three types of tests: self-support tests, 360-degree assessments and doing tests. The Msceit (Mayer, Salovey, and Caruso Emotional brain Test) is the most often used performance/ability test of emotional intelligence. Similar to an Iq test, this one is focused on emotions rather than intellectual skills. Dr. Mayer and Dr. Salovey were the ones to activate the explore on the notion of emotional intelligence. In other words, they were the first to regard emotions as a form of intelligence.

Msceit comprises several types of items among which some want you to identify the emotion in given pictures of people's faces, to select which emotion can aid you to accomplish definite tasks or challenges, to understand the way in which emotions can interact and blend among them and to answer how you can use your emotions in singular attractive public situations.

Msceit includes four definite areas or branches:

  1. Perceived Emotions - this area implies identifying emotions and it is based on your quality to efficiently and correctly read other people's emotions and to express yours accurately to the others in order to effectively communicate. Channeling your emotions toward the right direction, you can best use them.
  2. Facilitating Thought - It refers to one's quality to best use one's emotions in order to induce a singular mood. The way we feel has a great impact on the way we think. Our feelings and emotions can help us to incorporate our attention and to best recognize and guide us to the solutions of a problem.
  3. Understanding Emotions - For an optimal usage of our emotions we first have to know how they work. If you understand your emotions you are enabled to predict your future evolution in sure situations. You thus identify the causes of your states (sadness, anger, giddiness) and get in a best position to conduct them.
  4. Managing Emotions - Controlling the way you feel allows you to avoid negative emotions, best get along with others, solve problems easier, make best judgments, and check your behavior.
